It’s Never Too Late #2

Hello friends! It took a while to get back to you on this subject. I spent a fair bit of time wondering about which particular tag to apply to each of the rotund ladies, interspersed with quite a lot of socialising and reading – though not at the same time. Plus of course the particularly thrilling evening when the aged electric fire blew up, taking out all my technology with it – luckily only temporarily …… but that caused a few heart stopping moments I can tell you. Still, there’s a lovely new little fire in situ now thanks to the Queen’s Birthday Weekend sales and silver linings. Don’t we love those silver linings!

Anyhoo, you may remember this was the only finished beauty

But eventually I settled somewhere and went with the ones that follow.

No-one actually came up with this one exactly, the closest was Norah

This one was offered by Jenny, the Ginja Ninja

And this is mine, though of course, before it was mine it was Fleetwood Mac’s and I had temporarily forgotten that. I do hope they won’t mind

I was so pleased with myself, when this phrase popped into my head. I had completed two cards before I realised the song playing in my head was Stevie Nicks singing the words…….. I do sometimes wonder if I’m losing the plot!

So Norah and Jenny, please contact me (form is in the ‘Contact Me’ page found under the header picture) and a pack of four prints will find their way to your letterbox before too long.

Thank you to all who played, it was really hard to choose and some of the suggestions are so good they may find themselves attached to future cards made especially for them.

Let’s finish with a pic of Siddy who apparently wanted a ribbon in his hair too after his groom today and his pal at MudPuppy can never say ‘no’ to him. Posing sleepily and serendipitously in front of the new fire.

Thanks for coming by today, I love that you did!

  1. Hello Siddy ! I miss you and think of your happy heart and that makes me happy too!

I’m wearing the biggest smile after this post ! How fabulous are you !!? Your artwork on these is quite amazing Pauline! The tags (quips) are so fun. I guess you had a bit of a contest here by the sound of things. Well ‘poor’ me for being so tardy to visit. Glad to hear the fireplace drama wasn’t too tragic ! I’m scared of electric heaters, so much can go off the rails. I suppose it’s a necessity when you haven’t got central heating. The new one looks very stylish too. I’ve only ever seen very plain, ‘functional’ looking ones here. I’ll say toodles for now as I must put down my laptop and do some work, now the crack of noon and my coffee’s gone cold. I miss you xo K

    • Thank you Kym – I’m so sorry to be so long getting back to you too, clearly I got distracted (again). Thanks for coming by, it’s always lovely to see you šŸ™‚

  2. Oh, Pauline. What a gorgeous post. Thank you for attributing the words on your card to me! The cards are rather beautiful and I would love a set, please.
It must have been rather scary when your fire blew up. I’m pleased you are all okay. The new fire looks very appropriate and Siddy looks extremely comfortable. Enjoy!

      • I think the Antarctic is making it’s way here tomorrow. Our max is forecast to be 19, but will feel 10 degrees less in the wind and shade – and this is sub-tropical Queensland. Brrrr! Stay warm!

  3. I love these. They’re all beautiful with great messages. Siddy, of course, adds to the beauty.

I’m always losing the plot these days. That’s okay. I just make up a new one. šŸ˜€

  4. I never heard of “lose the plot.” I am stealing it.

Pauline your cards are beautiful and full of love – just like their creator.

So glad the fire explosion wasn’t worse! That sound terrible.

    • Haven’t you Jodie? It must be an English thing then – we use it all the time and me increasingly so these days…… I hope you won’t have to use it too often šŸ™‚ The heater went out with a very big bang and a tinge of burn in the air. It was quite dramatic! But it all worked out extremely well in the end – as life so often does.

  5. I must have missed something but that doesn’t surprise me. Very disconnected these days. I love the cards and the sentiments on them. Honestly, I have a much better chance of learning to fly without a plane than riding a bicycle. šŸ˜‰ That’s exactly what I look like in a yoga pose. šŸ™‚ They are just delightful. Siddy looks quite handsome in his new do. I’ve never tried one of those electric fireplaces. They look quite cozy though. Hope you are all doing well there. Sending hugs and love.

    • I don’t have a wood stove Marlene and as I miss the look of a fire I’ve had a ‘pretend’ fireplace for the past ten years. They have been upscaled in recent years and this one is really nice, warm and comforting and arrived just in time for the cold weather too. Perfect timing! We are all well here and ready for a couple of months of cold and dark weather with lots of books and movies, hand work and art to do. Hope your summer is coming along nicely and you are doing okay? I’m still waiting for an email…… šŸ™‚ xo

      • I’m still waiting for a brain to engage. Half a post written 2 weeks ago and still nothing done. Sigh. I’ll try and remember what I was going to say. I have a feeling this is not going to be a pretty process.

        • It would be some three weeks ago I think – two posts back here, we were conversing about something and you said you’d write me….. don’t know if that helps. Maybe it’s just kick back time for you, no need to rush around and no need to do anything that doesn’t engage your interest. Sometimes we ne need to let ourselves just embrace ‘kick back time’ ā¤

          • I’ve been very distracted lately, even today. Got as far as reading one of the 2 or 3 posts I’ve somehow missed and then didn’t get a chance to comment. I’ve got to get a handle on this soon before it overtakes me. ;( I’ll get there.

  6. I think a little background daftness is essential for a healthy mind, so Plose the Lot as often as possible. Cards are splendid, of course they are and I will be chanting ā€˜today I am mermazingā€™ to the mirror from now on. But the bow on The Sidster? Just no. Sorry, but really?

  7. The cards are perfect. I knew you would find the right combinations. Siddy looks adorable as always. Congrats on your new fire.

  8. You found the perfect captions for your cards–they are all so affirming! The idea of an electric fire is pretty terrifying–I’m really glad it didn’t turn into a disaster and you now have a new, reliable fireplace. I’m surprised Orlando wasn’t curled up in front, too–maybe feeling put out that he didn’t have a ribbon bow to wear??

    • I’m a most fortunate gal really Kerry – even my disasters seem to work out in the end šŸ™‚ Orlando was beside me when I clicked that photo of Siddy, he’s probably giving all fireplaces a wide berth for the time being – and who can blame him.

  9. Worthy winners.
I now have Stevie NIcks and Fleetwood Mac in my head but, that’s O.K., as they’re one of my favourite bands.
I am so pleased to see Siddy is in touch with his feminine side.
